Town Of Oyster Bay S.T.O.P. Program 2008
Pursuant to a permit obtained from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the Village of Upper Brookville is in the fourth year of a five year program to reduce the pollutants entering the ground water. A major component of this program is to stop the illicit discharge of toxins found in lawn care and gardening products and the illicit discharge of swimming pool water in the village drains.
The Town of Oyster Bay has a recycling program available to all Village residents. Under this program the Town will accept for disposal chemicals such as pesticides, aerosol cans, household cleaners, waste motor oil, batteries, paint cans, propane tanks, tires, etc. The Town of Oyster Bay is also accepting electronic waste on these dates. Electronic waste includes: Computer Monitors and Hard Drives; Printers; Keyboards; Computer Mice and cables; Cell Phone and Pagers; Copiers; Fax Machines; VCR's and Stereos. They will not accept Microwave Ovens, Small Household Appliances or Televisions.
